Paris St Germain star Neymar would feature in a charity match to raise funds for the needy in Brazil, according to organizer Nene. Nene told reporters that the former Barcelona man has agreed to feature in his annual charity game in his hometown Jundiai. He said he spoke to Neymar after seeing PSG’s game against Lille.
“Neymar already took part back in 2014, and he enjoyed it so much that he promised me he would come back. When I was with him last week, we talked a lot and he told me that we could count on him,” Nene said.
The former Paris St Germain star said he is very happy that Neymar agreed and that he hopes fans turn up in their numbers so the funds would be enough to feed the needy. The event would be held at the Jayme Cintra Stadium. The host is expected to manage one side while actor Caio Castro takes over the other side.
Aside Neymar, Deco, Marcos Assuncao and Denilson have agreed to feature in the game. Last year Brazilian legend Romario and Manchester City forward Gabriel Jesus were the marquee stars.
Neymar is expected to feature in the Ligue 1 game in Paris against Caen. After the game, the whole team would be in Doha, Qatar for the winter tour before the Christmas break. Neymar is expected to leave before the last day in Qatar as it is the same day as the charity game. Neymar has very strong influence in the PSG setup so he should be able to get approval and probably spend his break in Brazil before returning to training
