Arsenal Aiming For Morata

A consistent string of injuries seriously hampered the chances of Arsenal of winning the Premier League title during the previous season and now that Arsene Wenger has announced his future with Arsenal for at least one more campaign, the club is trying to reinforce their squad by signing players in the summer.

For the past months Alvaro Morata has been a top target of Wenger and the Real Madrid attacker was linked with the Premier League club but his agent Juanma Lopez recently stated that if Morata indeed does make a move away from Real Madrid he would move to Italy.

Lopez said: “Several clubs got in touch with Real Madrid and asked for him. Italy? I can say he’d like it very much as a destination. However, Morata is a Real Madrid player at the time, and there are a lot of suitors for him, not just Italian ones”.

Morata has a contract with Real Madrid which expires at the end of the next season and now that his agent announced that Morata will be remaining at the Santiago Bernabeu, Arsenal will have to try their luck with other players which are or might be available in the transfer market.

Arsenal and Arsene Wenger are not known as figures which are willing to spend vast amounts of money in order to secure a player which is why the arrival of Mesut Ozil to the Emirates Stadium for €42.5 million was such a huge surprise to many but rumors have recently been linking Arsenal with players such as: Diego Ribas, Cecs Fabregas and Angel Di Maria all of which are performers that have a high price tag and the premier League club will have to launch a significantly high offer in order to sign any of them.
