Breno dumped from all Clubs

Breno was once regarded as a player who could achieve a lot, but the Brazilian has been troubled with a poor character in the last five years. He recently spent two years in the prison after being found guilty of setting his rental residence on fire.

The former Bayern Munich defender is now without a club and he has returned to his hometown in order to look at potential avenues of a return to football. São Paulo have taken a gamble on him and have offered him a new contract. The 25-year-old left the Brazilian league back in 2008 when he was only a teenager.

He has recalled that São Paulo have supported him during various troubled times in his career. Now, he is looking to repay the club by helping them win trophies. São Paulo missed out on the Brazilian Serie A title last season by a considerable margin. They trailed leaders Cruzeiro by 10 points after the 38 game league campaign came to an end. The new state championships will be starting shortly and Breno will be joining up with his new teammates on January 5. São Paulo will also be involved in the Copa Libertadores after finishing second in the league season.

“I am very happy to return home. Now I just want to think positively and look forward, because I want to help Sao Paulo win trophies. Even from afar, I always followed the club via the internet. I would log on to sites to see how the team was doing in the league or whether they had injuries or suspensions, because I never failed to follow Sao Paulo.Sao Paulo have always supported me. Even in the most difficult times, the people at the club were supporting me. And that continues today,” said Breno in his first press conference since the return.
